The Sunalta School Community Welcomes Refugees is a community group applying to sponsor a refugee family.  We will be putting together an application, raising approximately $30,000 to financially support a family, and providing settlement assistance on arrival.

We are participating in the 1000 Schools challenge - an initiative to get 1000 schools across Canada to commit to sponsoring a refugee family, much like church communities did in the 1970s and 1980s, and are doing today. If you know another school community interested in supporting a refugee family, they can find more information as well as tools and resources here.
